ELIGIBILITY

Federal CARES Act Fund

  • Students who have incurred expenses as a direct result of a disruption in campus operations due to COVID-19; and
  • Students who are or were enrolled in the 2020 Winter semester/term; and 
  • Students who have filed a 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or are eligible to file a 2019-2020 FAFSA; and 
  • Students who were enrolled in at least one ground-based (face-to-face) course on or before March 13, 2020 (date of President Trump’s Proclamation of a National Emergency for the COVID-19 Outbreak).

NSU COVID-19 Student Support Fund

  • Students who are or were enrolled in the 2020 Winter semester/term including those in fully online programs; and 
  • Students who are not eligible to file a 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Note: Students who have already submitted an NSU COVID-19 Student Support Fund Application must complete a new application that includes information recently released by the U.S. Department of Education regarding eligibility for the Federal CARES Act.


How to Apply

Approved students will receive a one-time allocation of emergency Federal CARES Act funds up to $3,000 or NSU COVID-19 Student Support Funds up to $500 based on the type(s) of need, supporting documentation, and availability of federal aid and NSU COVID-19 Student Support Fund donation levels.
